As a multi-passionate attorney, I know what it’s like to have several open flames going at once. Business projects. Big dreams. Family matters. Questions about finances and money. Career obligations. As an attorney specializing in financial and business matters, my experience running my own coffee shop and food brand has been invaluable to me in helping others draft business documents, setup their own small businesses, protect their assets, and work to find resolutions to complex personal and financial matters.
In my coffee and acai bowl brand, The Vagabond Eatery, we built a business that did somewhere in the ballpark (so far) of a quarter million dollars in sales (dear IRS and fact checkers: sales, not profit 😉 ). Some people said I was crazy for doing this while a full time law student- and they were probably right. But what I have learned in this process, especially from the mistakes I have made, will be invaluable to me as I move forward in the business and legal world.
Sean Sandifer Law: Following A Dream
I recently launched my independent legal practice, seansandiferlaw.com, and it was a really cool feeling to bring in that first revenue. I’m grateful for the opportunity to already be working directly with clients.
Business owners will tell you- things could always be better. Processes more efficient. Sales higher. Profits higher. Cash flows more steady. But licensed to practice law in two states and a quarter mil in sales all before my 26th birthday? It’s worth a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate.
Envisioning My Dreams
I envision a future where I can help build more businesses. This would be a dream. Write books. Give talks. Be a voice in public policy. I am inspired by people like @gordongram, @kevinolearytv, @barbaracorcoran, @marthamaccallum, @daveramsey, just to name a few. Surround yourself by people who are excellent at what they do. They say that if your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.
I can tell you my dreams scare the hell out of me…and I’m just getting started. 2023 here we come!
